So after an unintended hiatus for a month, I am back and back with so much more content. This entire month will have a lot of summer special fashion posts because well, lets face it, I live in a city where Summer is the season that trends the longest. (Also this summer series is very much inspired by Curios and Dreams. They have been having a summer series featuring a lot of makeup and skincare. So make sure to check out their series by clicking here)

Our recent trip (I say recent but it has been a month now) to Pondy was a short one and honestly all we did was eat, go back to the room sleep, then go out and eat again. As short as the trip was, it was the perfect getaway to just relax. The only thing I was upset about was that I did not get to click more outfit pictures. With the paved roads and the colourful walls, there are so many backgrounds and I have plans to go back there with a photographer and multiple outfits. Not that my husband isn’t a good photographer (you are going to see his skills right now), but there is something about going with a professional photographer and doing proper street style shoots for the blog. It just feels more important.

Anyway, lets take a look at the outfits, shall we?

For the Day

White dresses are perfect for summer and this really cute one from Avirate has pastel blue flowers on it. This is from a collection that is one season earlier but I think skater dresses are always in no matter what season.

I paired this with my Skechers for a more casual look and tied my hair up in a pony because it was just really hot! Accessories were kept minimal.

An alternative would be to pair this with a blue belt and tan sandals which make your legs look like they go on for miles.

For makeup, I’ve kept it real simple, because well anyway makeup just melts off in this weather.

We had lunch at this really cute North Indian restaturant called Dilliwaala 6 and it has the quirkiest decor! I wanted to click a lot more pictures in the restaurant but it was too hot and too crowded to get any nice pictures.

For the Night

This is a dress that I have had for a while now and just finally got the chance to wear it. I never thought a bodycon style of dress would look good on me. I am your quintessential Indian woman whose hips are wider giving a pear shaped appearance. Marriage only seems to have highlighted that pear shape and I was really worried how this would look on me

Trust me when I say I was extremely surprised to see that I still fit in this. I have gained so much flab since the wedding but I am not going to be whining about it here.

The shades of black and grey flowers makes it look a bit graphic and well we all know that graphic flowers were on trend.

Since I didn’t carry heels, I wore this with the same tan sandals and a salmon coloured bag that was a gift from my sister. Accessories were limited to hoop earrings and simple bracelets.

For makeup, I went all out and did a simple smokey eye with a peachy lip. A little too much for a walk the Promenade? Meh, I loved how it turned out!

I think this is a dress than very easily transition from day to evening with the right accessories and make up.

Right, so these are 2 ways that I think you can wear florals for summer, whether it be for lunch or for dinner or just randomly to walk around a pretty town like Pondy. How do you like to wear florals in summer?
